Hello, I am Theodore, museum geek and web developer. Art + Data is both a journal and a repository. I use it to share my work and collect digital curiosities.
My practice centres on the intersections between museum objects, audiences and digital technologies. Truly interdisciplinary the areas of my research include digital engagement, web development and British Art History. In the future all museum professionals will be digital experts, until then I will record my work to shape contemporary museum practice here.
Over the last eight years I have been the Assistant Curator Fine Art @LeedsArtGallery charged with the care of a nationally important collection of British prints and drawings. As part of this role I led The Picture Library and spearheaded the research, digistation and web development project that saw all the works by the British artist John Sell Cotman (1782 - 1842) and related archive material in the Leeds collection published online. I am soon to join York Museums Trust where I will lead the digital engagement team.
